This course equips students to use the correct survey equipment and understanding a mine plan. Usage of a distometer and a soft tape will be explained practically and theoretically. The setup of a tripod, centering and levelling of a total station will be discussed by means of survey angles and dumpy levels to ultimately be able to do survey offsets and traversing of survey positions. Plotting and understanding of surveyed coordinates manually and electronically will ensure that the basics of surveying is covered in this course.
